About Jan Switzer
High Mountain Therapy, LLC
Even before I completed my Master’s degree in counseling, I
found my passion working with others to help clients and their
life issues. I focus on the whole person and the issues that each
client brings to the counseling session. I explore with my
clients as to how they take care of themselves: emotionally,
physically, and spiritually.
When people are out of balance, their life experiences may
directly impact one dimension, but they also indirectly impact
all three. I use my clinical skills and spiritual insights for
personal healing and wholeness.

More about me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addiction
Counselor III. I work with a variety of individuals, children
(age 5 and above), adolescents, and adults. I also work with
families and couples.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human
Performance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, Texas.
I also hold a certificate in paralegal studies. I received a
Masters in Art in Counseling Psychology from Regis University.
I have been in private practice a number of years.
My focus lies in a number of areas, including trauma and abuse,
grief and loss, addictions, life transitions, marriage issues and
domestic violence, as well as children's issues.
I enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, knitting (gathering with friends at
Knit Knook in Conifer), baking, gardening, and meditation.
I have one adult son, 3 adult children, and 7 step-grandchildren.
My husband is retired and loves to "tinker" with automobiles.
We also have 3 West Highland White Terriers (who run our
household) and 1 Golden Retriever Mix who "guards" our
property. We love mountain living and have lived in Conifer for
almost 13 years.
